Why Dumawall works in the kitchen

The kitchen is not an easy environment for wall cladding. Steam, grease, splashes, temperature changes… a surface has to withstand a lot. Dumawall is developed to meet all those demands — and it does so brilliantly.

01. Waterproof and resistant to steam and grease.

The panels withstand moisture and cooking vapour. Behind the stove or along the countertop, Dumawall performs where ceramic tiles with grout would have discoloured long ago.

02. No demolition, just glue.

The existing tiled wall stays in place, and the Dumawall panels go right on top. No sledgehammer, no dust mask. And the best part? Anyone can install them, even if you’re not an experienced DIYer.

03. One day of work, years of enjoyment.

While a traditional tile renovation disrupts your kitchen for days, Dumawall is simply a matter of measuring, cutting and gluing. Cooking again in your renewed kitchen the same evening? It’s possible.

04. Easy to clean.

The smooth, grout-free surface can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. No degreaser, no brush, no sections full of limescale. Just wipe and you’re done.

05. Cut to any size.

With a simple utility knife, you cut the panels to size. Think of narrow strips next to the cooker hood, around sockets or in angled layouts. You don’t need a tile cutter.

06. Style of your choice.

From warm wood effects to sleek concrete imitation, from timeless marble to fresh solid colours… the collection offers the right design for every kitchen style. Matte for a calm, warm atmosphere or gloss for extra light reflection and a livelier look.

The backsplash: the most demanding spot in your kitchen

The area behind the stove takes the most daily wear. Oil splashes, steam clouds, baked-on grease… classic ceramic tiles absorb all of that in the grout, with all the consequences.

Dumawall offers a stylish and practical solution. The smooth surface is easy to clean and requires little maintenance.

For the backsplash, concrete looks, marble designs and sleek solid colours in white or grey are the most popular choices: timeless, versatile and compatible with almost any kitchen style. Curious about all designs? Get inspired by a wide range of possibilities.

TIP: Dumawall panels are suitable behind an induction hob or electric cooktop, but not behind an open gas flame. Always respect the minimum distance to the heat source and follow the installation instructions in the packaging.

How to renew your kitchen walls with Dumawall

Step 1: Preparation

Ensure a clean, dry and flat surface. Remove grease, dust and any loose material from the existing tiles. Then let the panels acclimatise for at least 48 hours in the kitchen itself, at least 50 cm from the walls and at a temperature of around 20 °C.

Step 2: Measuring and cutting

Measure each wall and zone carefully. Always calculate at least 10% extra material for cutting loss and unexpected adjustments. Cut the panels to size with a utility knife, or use a fine saw for more precise cuts.

Step 3: Installation

Start at the bottom and work from right to left. Apply the adhesive in vertical zigzag lines on the back of the panel or directly onto the substrate. Press the panel firmly, check with a level and connect each next panel using the tongue-and-groove system.

Step 4: Finishing

For heavy accessories such as shelves or cooker hood brackets, drill through the panel and use plugs in the underlying wall. Clean the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Abrasives, bleach and solvents are unnecessary.
